ByteCards started as a study tool for my own exams and grew into the flashcard app I wished existed: no sign-up wall, no subscription, no syncing something to a server before you can answer a single question.

You build subjects, split them into chapters, and write questions as true/false, single choice or multi-select. Then you quiz yourself. Everything lives on your device from the first launch and works fully offline — Google Drive backup is there if you want it, not because the app needs it.

The gamification is the part that actually keeps people coming back. Correct answers earn coins, sessions build a daily streak with a calendar of every day you've practiced, and streak freezes exist for the weeks when life gets in the way. Coins unlock card themes, which is a small thing that turns out to matter.
